VR Learning: Wind Turbine Engineering

Learn about how wind turbines are designed and engineered to turn wind into electricity. Courses can be localized to offshore or onshore wind, depending on your location. Students get to experience a full walkthrough of a 14MW direct drive turbine and then interactively adjust the designs of the turbine and environmental conditions to learn about wind power output.

Course includes:

  • 30-45 min localized lecture on wind turbines

  • VR walkthrough of a 14MW Direct Drive Turbine Design with hands-on wind power output game

I think this was a great experience. The students were excited about participating in the VR experience and had an opportunity to learn about Offshore Wind. They were provided great information on the many opportunities that it will possibly present in the future.
