Corporate Recruiting and Training Media

Vinci collaborated with TPI Composites, a leading manufacturer of wind turbine blades, to design a narrative driven VR simulation of their blade manufacturing process. TPI provided Vinci with subject matter content, videos, and on their process. To ensure the module would effectively engage students, our team ensured the technical details were simplified down, and added significant gamification elements to the process. User interfaces with simple interactivity were used to simulate more complex elements of the job, such as laying resin and using tools such that a student can independently and simply complete the experience.

VR Learning: Career Exploration in Offshore Wind

Learn about climate change, the offshore wind industry, and the different career paths available to students. The course can be localized to your specific location (e.g. localized to New York City specific Offshore Wind projects). Students finally get to experience all of these careers in hands-on, immersive VR simulations of major careers.

Course includes:

  • 45 min - 60 min localized lecture on Offshore Wind, careers, and career pathways.

  • VR simulations of the following careers with hands-on tasks and training: Offshore Wind Technician, Pile Driving, Blade Manufacturing, Tower Welding

  • [Coming soon] Hands-on activities

VR Learning: Wind Turbine Engineering

Learn about how wind turbines are designed and engineered to turn wind into electricity. Courses can be localized to offshore or onshore wind, depending on your location. Students get to experience a full walkthrough of a 14MW direct drive turbine and then interactively adjust the designs of the turbine and environmental conditions to learn about wind power output.

Course includes:

  • 30-45 min localized lecture on wind turbines

  • VR walkthrough of a 14MW Direct Drive Turbine Design with hands-on wind power output game

I think this was a great experience. The students were excited about participating in the VR experience and had an opportunity to learn about Offshore Wind. They were provided great information on the many opportunities that it will possibly present in the future.
